Nope, the stock one was already in your truck, and is already calibrated.
Any reason why you're ditching the W4M? I'm thinking of tossing mine as well.

I'm ditching my W84me tune and going back to the stock PCM. Is there a chance that I will throw a CE light when switching back to the stock PCM?

you won't see any codes, but should do a re-learn
Used to own a FSC, now I just have my extremely old Buick.
Have some perspective please. Thank you.
Any specific reason?Originally Posted by Stratosman

I'm ditching the W4M tune because the only difference I noticed after the tune was a 2 mpg gas loss...Originally Posted by DarkCharisma

The CPS needs to be "learned" to the "new" PCM each time you change it-or so I've been told. Even if it's the original one-it doesn't have any way to remember what it was.Originally Posted by AuburnTiger

Kinda. the original PCM does retain the CASE data unless there is some problem with it or it's been CASE'd to a different vehicle, so you shouldn't have to do a re-learn. you would however want to get a CASE done if the PCM you're putting in hasn't had one done on your truck before.Originally Posted by Stratosman

That's exactly right. The original PCM will plug right and and you'll be fine.Originally Posted by DarkCharisma
That's strange that you didn't notice any difference. Maybe you should contact Jesse and see what's up. I've had my tune for over 3 years now, and I love it. After the initial break-in period, I could tell a big difference in performance, but my MPG did go down some.
I ditched my W4me for a Wheatley tune, so much better!!

I contacted him and he wasn't much help. I value the extra MPG right now anyway.Originally Posted by kustomkoncepts

hmm. i got a solid 2mpg gain with my blackbear tune, you should definitely not lose any mileage.
but as for your origional question, if the PCM was ran in your truck before, and calibrated for your truck it will plug right back in, no problems at all.
