    What do you guys think of that ? According to the ad with these springs you can make stock vortec heads accept .550 lift. I just figured I'd post it to see if anyone knows the pros and cons of this setup.

    Yeah those are beehive springs...good springs. That article is from car craft a while back its not just an ad. Beehive springs are exspensive. It was cheaper for me to buy the cutter and arbor for my hand drill and modify the vortecs in my garage and use HD z28 springs to get .550" lift.
    78 c10, shortbed/stepside: 5/5" drop, muncie M20, 388 stroker. Playtoy and first vehicle.
    98 gmc x-cab: 5.7L, 17"s, 5/6" drop, flowmaster,K&N, air ride helper bags, kicker sterio.

    The springs sold in that auction are not beehive springs though.

    "The image above is used to illustrate, showing .550 lift is possible without machine work.
    This kit does not use the beehive springs."
