does taking out screen do any thing for power or milage and how does that compare to aftermarket MAF's:fsc:
you wont see any significant gains by removing the screen. its there for a reason, dont f&@k with it. the screen evens airflow before it passes over/thru the sensors. removing the screen can cause turbulence and in accurate readings resulting in lean or rich conditions. MAFs are like women in some ways, they are not cheap... and very finicky.

Leave it there, and your stock MAF is fine.
