Stock Vortec 350 fuel injection / intake match up with ZZ350?

I got to thinking. Since my license is gone for a year, I have a bunch of time to kill, especially save money. First option was to sell my OBS and save some additional dollars and get like an 05..

Or keep the OBS and drop a ZZ350, stroke it to a 383 w/ aluminum 202/160 heads and zz4 roller cam w/ 1.6 rockers. Would I be able to keep the stock Vortec 350 fuel injection and intake manifold or would I need a new setup to match the heads for the ZZ350?

EDIT: well regardless if it's a yes or no answer I may just put a blower on it instead

Why not just buy the vortec 383 replacement engine from GMPP?

I don't think you need any more power seeing as you can't hang on to your licence as it is. More power is just going to tempt you to do bad things......and you'll give in.

Well that engine happens to be 5 grand(with heads) and the ZZ350 is 2 grand, but I can probably snag it for around $1800 and put different heads and everything else on.

No one knows if the stock Vortec 350 fuel injection / intake manifold can just bolt on to the ZZ350 or does it in fact need a carb??

But I would be getting just the block and putting 202/160 heads on. ..maybe this link will help with determining if I can use my stock fuel injection and intake.

If you are using the intake and injection from a 97 it should fit since you plan on using vortec heads, which is what the 96-98 pickups use. The only difference is the valve size and the intake runner size. Will it supply enough fuel is the question. I think it should with a tune which you definitely need if you are going to stroke it.

Why pay $2,000 for the ZZ4 just so you strip the heads and cam and valvetrain on it? Just get a 350 shortblock and build from there. It will be much cheaper for you.

If you just wanted a nice clean swap, the HT383E would be my choice. Get it tuned and you will have plenty of power, even with the stock injection.

That's exactly what I am doing. The ZZ4 350 short block is 2 grand and I am putting different heads and either ZZ4 or LT4 camshaft w/ 1.6 rockers and hopefully stock injection. If not I will get different injectors. If California did not have impossibl crate motor carb laws for smog then I would just go that way.

I also would be putting a new tranny in, along with a 14 bolt rear, lockers, 4.56 gears and SFA. For the tranny I want a 5 speed auto. Would that work out?
