Got an 87 chevy 305 tbi. I've heard how restrictive the spacer on top of the tbi is. I know Hypertech sells an expensive piece to replace it.
Today, I removed the collar, set my stock air cleaner assembly on top of the tbi, my K&N filter with flipped lid. The threads stick out farther now since the collar is removed, so I just used washers to take up the space.
It seems to seal very well and I put a push in style breather on the valve cover.
Not sure if I notice any improvements, but it does sound better. Is this ok to do?
