Blackbear tune..if they can do them yet. The trucks are new, dont expect alot of mods to be there. If blackbear cant do them yet get him an exhaust job.

I recently bought a 2010 crewcab Z71 with the 6.2, I have to say I was surprised just how much faster it is than my 07 5.3 (No comparsion at all). I havent had any luck finding a programmer or chip for it so far. I always wanted just a little more out of my 07 5.3 truck but this one is fast as heck, no complaints so far.

There really aren't any complaints with these motors, so far they've gotten great reviews regarding their power and performance. he made a sound choice, only other engine i'd consider is the aluminum 5.3L.

Thought I would add- I bought an ECSB 6.2l 4x4 about a month ago and had justin@blackbear tune it. Wow what a difference. I liked it before, but now it's even better. I only have a few miles on it since I flashed it last night but it made a nice difference. The only way for him to do it right now is to buy the autocal unit, but that allows you to flash it back to stock on your own if needed.

The heads on 'em flow like gangbusters. I've never seen a better candidate for a stroker crank, these things are MEAN with a 4" stroke in 'em! I've seen many, many stroker builds running pump gas with over 600fwhp.
Now all you have to do is figure out how to get your dad to safely total the truck so you can snatch that engine out if it!

My buddy has a 2010 with a 6,2. Lyndon at Wester's garage had his on the dyno for about 3 hours. All he could get was 1 hp. They are set up very well from the factory. I think the intake and the exhaust maybe the restriction. He's going to do those mods and the he'll be going back. Having said that, it's still a totally different truck to drive. He got rid of all torque managment and improved the shifting. I think the truck is better on fuel too.......I'll have to check with him on that.

PS, IIRC the truck only made like 250hp and 275 ft/lbs of torque.

I think you're mistaken. Even LQ4 6.0 make more than that on the dyno. Just under 300lbs/ft tq as low as 2400rpm

Just remember, chassis dynos are a tuning tool. They vary greatly from dyno to dyno. His dyno reads low compaired to other dynos, you can't do the 20% rule of thumb with his. It comes as a shock I know. I bet my friend it would break any more than 275 rwhp and he thought I was crazy.

A stock 2010 Camaro only made 264hp on his dyno. http://westersgarage.eidnet.org/2010...o%20before.jpg I don't know what the factory rated hp is on those.

    My truck made 284 rwhp.
    My camaro made 318rwhp

In other words chassis dynos aren't for bragging rights and the numbers should be taken with a gain of salt when comparing.

Interesting, guess I've never been around enough dynometers to know.

The stock 2011 Sierra is rated at 403hp from the factory. I forget what the stock torque was though. I'm going to go with an Edge tuner, cold air intake and possibly a throttle body spacer and MSD ignition on my 2100 Sierra Crew Cab, short bed, 3.73 locking diffs, 4x4, with a 6.2L when I get it at the end of the month. I have a friend that can order the Edge system and it seems to be one of the best on the fly type tuners made right now. I was thinking of also supercharging or blowing mine along with an exhaust system. And then lifting it 3 or 4" with 33s. I'm not sure yet exactly what i'll do after the Edge system and CAI just yet though.

Throttle body spacer is a waste of time and money, any claim they make are for their products on TBI or carb engines and do not apply to MPFI or CSFI engines. Don't believe half of what most of these companies try to tell/sell you.
