    4.3L Vortec + 1 Cam = 42 Extra Horsepower
That is awesome. 42HP from one mod is a huge gain. NA of course. I am considering the cam and rockers myself.

Has anyone installed a Wynjammer Supercharger?

    They have a 1996-2007 4.3L kit for $2600. http://www.wynjammer.com/ALM1115/GM_...ze_Vortec.html

I really like the idea, but have never run into anyone who has done it. Some real performance stats would help justify the investment.

I was wondering if a throttle body spacer would help on my 2005 like the older models..? looking to up the power alittle, adding a Magnaflow, drop in K/N a cheap hand held (hypertech) programmer i found and maybe the spacer if its worth it.
I dont want to spend much just give the little motor alittle more pep.

    Thanks for any help.

no, throttle body spacer would be a waste. deleting the restrictor cup and getting a bigger tb would be a good upgrade though.

that and ditch the hand held and get a blackbear mail order tune. those were the two biggest mods I've done to my truck (and I just did the cup).

regear too. it will make any truck feel like a torque monster if you gear it right for what you do.

Its just my work truck so i dont care about it being anything more really and dont want to spend alot on it just thought a few cheap things that might wake it up some and maybe yeild a few mpg more.
Not really going to mess with sending off for a custom tune its too much money IMO for a work truck when i can get a hand held for less then a bill. Would be nice if their was someone local that i could just go see and get the TM turned off thats all i really want..lol

What kind of gears do you have in yours and what kinda MPG do you see out of it.? Iam getting 16/17mpg with it loaded down with tools and ladders on the topper.
Its a RCSB 2wd by the way and by the tach at 70 i would guess it has 3:42s in it.

    Thanks

Handhelds are less than a bill for a reason.

    http://www.csgnetwork.com/multirpmcalc.html

Use that to figure out your gear ratios or look in your glove box.

Black Bear Tune, Gears, and V8 swap/boost are the only worthwhile "easy" mods for a 4.3. Exhaust and intakes and deleting intake silencers and TB cups and blah blah blah might collectively make a difference but none makes more than 1-3HP on their own.

JBA Headers, Magnaflow cat-back, underdrive pullies, and an intake in Trucks (I think it was that magazine, I'm subscribed to a lot) magazine was worth 9HP. That's not a lot.

Is there a FAQ or sticky that can walk a newbie through all the free mods for the Vortec 4300? So far in my search I see descreening the MAF and removing the hump off the butterfly valve on the throttle body.
