    it should

ECU would need reprogramming..can you get them at a good price?
why not just get a head and cam package from jegs or summit

actually i'm browsing through the Scoggin-Dickey catalog right now. the L31 short block 4 bolt main is listed for $1499.95. The L98 heads are $469.95 each while the L31 heads are $244.75 each or $319.75 with a spring upgrade. i am just brainstorming, but i am kinda interested in doing a 383 setup. Ryan.

kinda sounds like the L31 shortblock with L98 aluminum heads for about $2500.00 is a pretty good price............

actually thats a damn good price...

whats your price range? consider a lt1 or ls1 swap..EFI and alot of ponys..lt1 will run you about 3000 for the package ls1 runs about 6000

well. an LT-1 swap would be sweet. Ls-1 is a little more than i want to spend. I'm looking for a setup with some grunt and power but i won't be racing or anything. that is why i kinda ruled out the LT-1. also i'm looking for more or less a drop in motor that might require a little computer tuning at most. if i could pull 300 RWHP or a little better, i would be more than happy.

well it comes down to cost...i personnalyam a big 383 fan but not if your not offroading and not racing...its not worth the money..

if you want some added HP some get up and go then go get a spare small block 4 bolt..put it in your garage..and build it piece by piece...one you will have fun and two you wil save alot of money by building it yourself

but if you really want just a drop in then go with a engine package from summit or jegs..cant go wrong with them

well if you buy a crate motor those are carbs and your tbi as far as i know wont work..thats why i suggest building a motor and using your stock tbi stuff with upped injectors and ecu tunning..

or you can spend another 1500-2000 bucks and when you swap the crate motor in you would do a efi conversion as well

i haven't set a price. just weighing my options right now. i think you are right about the 383 though. for my use, it just wouldn't be worth the money. it would be nice though.

i jsut suggest that you build your own..but if your not comfy on doing that then get the crate motor and do the efi conversion
