I just bought a suburban and it has a 454 in it. I already have 2 super 40 muffler's and I'd like to put them on for a true dual setup, but I'm woundering if it will be to loud. I plan on having the tip's exit just in front of the rear tire's.

they are also 2.5" is that big enough?

I have true dual super 40's on my 96 with the 5.7L. (True duals, No cats, 2.5" Pipe from the manifolds back, dumped before the rear end). I think it sounds really good, and is not too load--but I like loud pipes. Also have the same setup on my '63 Nova SS with a 383 Stroker. With more horsepower they sound that much better IMO. I think you'll be pleasantly surprised!

I think you will be fine I hear the super 40 is deeper outside and less loud in.

I've been wondering about this too. I have an original 40 series and it drones inside the cab way too much, but it's not very grumbly outside. I am hoping the super 40 will fix this since I'm planning on a new exhaust.

thank's I'll put em on and try em out. I had an original 40 on my S15 with the 4.3, then when I bagged the back I put a super 40 on and I noticed it being alot deeper and alot quieter inside the cab.
