Well I just got my headers installed. I got the Doug Thorley long tube headers. They are awesome. I have had Flowmasters (yes everyone give me crap and call me an idiot, but I didnt know about this site before I got them) for awhile now and I knew what my exhaust sounded like at pretty much every RPM imaginable. Well the headers smoothed out the exhaust and made it much deeper. Sounds ten times better. It didnt make it much louder, but it was already loud enough for me. I can hear a little more noise under the hood, but thats awesome. The power is much better. Havent had much time to try it, but I will be going on the interstate tonight and I will check it out and give you guys more feedback. I have pics of the headers at my cardomain site. This link will take you right to the pics of my headers - http://www.cardomain.com/ride/352209/. If anyone wants anymore pics, just ask me, I can try and get more. I got much help before I got mine, so I am willing to help anyone that plans on getting them. I did get them installed by a shop, my dad is good friends with the owner. He said that they went on very easy. I have him do most of my work. I think I was overcharged tho, I think he is kinda ripping me off, knowing that I will go to him. What did you guys pay to get your headers installed, if you didnt do them yourself?

THose headers are awesome. I've been looking at them awhile but have never talked to anyone who had them. May I ask what they cost?

Yea, I paid 555 for the headers and shipping at www.summitracing.com but I paid 230 for installation. So maybe you could get that cheaper if you install them yourself. But it has so far been well worth it. Much better throtle response and def. a notice in power.

Not sure what the labor rate is at that shop. before I quit my job and moved I was a service manager for a repair shop and was billing at 99.00 per hour. So that would be about 2.2 hours of labor for your header install. Chances are the books call for twice that but your connection charged you for actual time and cut you a deal. Or it could have taken him much less than 2.2 hours and he took what he could for that type of work.

Yes the throttle response has improved alot. It was already improved from the intake and exhaust, but yes it is better. I got alot more noticable power. One of my biggest increases in power. The PCM is still working wonders to, debating about whether or not to even send it in to get reprogrammed since I have already had most of my mods done and I notice a ton more power. So I think I will just leave it as is for now.

clean the engine bay, your embarrasing the headers! i like it

i wish I went long-tubes when I did mine, the hissing sound mine make when they are cold is annoying. I might get long tubes, and gut the cats at the same time....its going to be a long time though....

The headers look great but the rest of the engine looks like ****! You might have got charged less for the install if you hosed that thing off! Nobody likes working on dirty stuff. lol

Yea thanks for all commenting how crappy my engine bay looks. I would like to clean it off but I wouldnt know exactly what to do. Can you just scrub it off? I thought if you get water into the distributer bad things happen. Would someone want to give a good way to clean it up? Haha. Thanks guys

There is no distributor. See the individual coils with the wires going to the plugs? Just take it to the carwash and spray it down with engine cleaner, let it soak while you wash the rest, then hit it with highpower soap, then rinse, it will look like new.

    watch the alternator though, imho.

I'm glad you like the headers; when I put mine on I noticed a huge difference. Do you get any hissing noise at all?
