I am still pondering the idea of getting me an exhaust :) I have the 5.7 vortec with factory dual cats. I can't decide on a muffler setup though. Some people tell me to run 2 40s, some say atr but i can't afford it, and now people are telling me one chambers. know i dont want glasspacks and i know i want it legal. But i want her as loud as i can legally get off the line:) whats yall thoughts thanks O, one other thing what should i expect to pay for exhaust installed with mufflers and for it installed if i already have mufflers :) thanks again

I just dont want glasspacks just a personal preference i guess :) I would run straights no mufflers but i'm told it sounds terrible and kills performance

I know that 350's running straight headers sound awesome. The cat is going to change your sound a bit. I know when I ran just the cat on my I6 4.0 it sounded like a tractor

The loudest thing you can legally run is a 40Series, 1 chambers are for racing and are not street legal.

Either go with straight pipes or go with a 40 series. Those are your only 2 options that are gonna sound good IMO. There are soo many trucks running around here with straight pipes, a TON of 96-98 z71's. They either have that or the flowmaster 40 like me.

NOW on the flowmaster 40, i have the one muffler single in / dual out. What my exhaust shop did was take my dual pipes goin in to my stock muffler and they welded on a y pipe looking thingy so i would have one pipe goin in. They then put 2 pipes goin out, angled at 45 degrees. Looks and sounds great. I may put cut outs in just so i can run straight pipes when im in the mood, and run my muffler when im not.

Have any other questions, feel free to ask.
