Hey guys, I've been listening to the Corsa exhaust clips and they sound wicked at WOT. The only thing I don't like is all the popping you get when you let off the throttle. Is there any way to stop this, without changing the rest of the sound? I am pretty sure the RST Silverado's come stock with a Corsa cat-back and JBA headers. Would adding headers help eliminate the 'popping' noise? Headers are always good lol

No headers won't help, mine pops like a biatch when I shift. It doesn't bother me though, it's gonna pop a little because they are pretty much straight though mufflers. I love being quite just sitting there and take off next to someone with thteir window down and see them flentch when I hit WOT.

Does your truck have headers? And also, do you think there is any other system out that sounds better than the Corsa? I love how it is quiet until WOT. Will headers make it louder, or just make it sound better? Thanks for the reply

I have shorty headers and they made it louder and sound better. I never even heard about corsa till I bought my truck and before that it was flowmaster on everything. Now I tell everybody to get corsa because it is the best of both worlds and sounds bad ass.

I have the Dynatech Supermaxx headers with my Corsa. It did get louder with the headers.

But as the other poster said it is the greatest thing when you step on it next to someone. Love blowing a *ord off the line, he doesn't know what hit him.

    Have a great day.

I have a couple questions for you 05Quadrasteer. Can you get the Corsa exhaust with true duals? I don't really like the look of them both coming out in the stock location (no offense, lol). Also, how much did your 20's slow down your truck's acceleration? Thanks guys

You can get it in a dual exit out the back, I just took my tail pipe off.

If I recall correctly Corsa doesn't make a true dual system. Everything still goes threw the one muffler but can do dual split to the rear as mentioned above.

Just looked at the Corsa site again and they do make a dual side exit as well.

As for accelaration I had my Westers tune redone with the bigger tires and it will still chirp them a bit on take off. During the winter months I switch back to the stock tires for the snow traction.

    Have a good day.

You really ain't going to be able to hear the popping of the Corsa on deceleration. I couldn't hear it in my dad's burb or my brothers Z71. The idle and cruise is deep but no drone and the WOT is awesome. I wish they made one for my truck.

I don't know mine pops like a mofo. I love the way it does it though so I could care less.

Yea....well one has a 5.3L and the other a 6.0 with headers/cats so, its really just hard to hear it IMO.

I've never heard mine pop or anything close. Also, I have the sport exhaust but I think it's way too quiet, although I know it won't sound as loud when you are the one driving it. How did you hear how loud yours was?

Re: Eliminating the 'popping' with Corsa?

Is this "popping" happening when you let off of WOT or what? I pretty much never pass ~3800 rpms and even that's rare so maybe that's why mine doesn't make this noise. Then again maybe that's why it's not so loud.

BlackTexasZ, I love your truck, lol. The dual exhaust out the rear looks awesome on your truck, was it like that when you bought it or did you have to get it made like that? I'm not that worried about the popping noise anymore, since most people seem to like it. The new problem I'm having is the price of a Corsa exhaust, lol. Thanks a lot guys

Re: Eliminating the 'popping' with Corsa?

Thanks! It's actually a Corsa model. They have one like mine, one with the usual two pipes out the rear and the one like 05Quadrasteer has. For a good price look on ebay, and just be patient! PM me if you have any questions.

No it happens all the time when I shift, maybe it's a standard thing. Any way it doesn't matter just letting people know that mine pops.

On ebay right now they have a Corsa touring edition for $315 with the side exit but IMO the Sport sounds better and is more aggressive at WOT.

Re: Eliminating the 'popping' with Corsa?

Yeah, I'd definitely go for the Sport system. $315? That seems like a really good price, is there any way to know for sure it's a real Corsa exhaust? I'm asking because my friend bought an 'HKS' blowoff valve for his turbo, and it messed up almost immediately. He later bought an HKS blowoff valve from somewhere else, and the only part that looked the same was the outside...all the inside parts were different, and this worries me.

Re: Eliminating the 'popping' with Corsa?

If it were me I would go for that one on e-bay. I looked over his feedback and everything is positive. Seems he got a hold of some systems and is willing to get rid of them cheaply.

The only thing I would watch out for would be the shipping cost. According to their calculator to ship from MI to VA it would be over $100 threw UPS. I know when I got mine from NJ the shipping wasn't that much.

Here are the links for the 2 he has for sale.

This one is extended cab http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Corsa...75339846QQrdZ1

This one is regular cab http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Corsa...75341983QQrdZ1

Also on the issue of popping. I have noticed that in the morning before the truck really warms up if I got WOT it will pop a bit during the shifts. The only other time after it is warm that the popping will happen is if I am sitting still and rev the motor and then let the accelrator off quickly while up at 3,000 or more RPM's

    Have a good day.
