I've got a 2000 Tahoe LT. Got it a few months ago, and with the advice from the good folks here, I have since put on a Magnaflow Cat-Back and an FIPK. I LOVE the gains and the sound.

My next step, I think, is Headers.

What I'm trying to accomplish is even more power, and want to know what the next upgrade beyond what I've got now, what's the next logical step? Would that be the headers?

    Questions:
    * What kind of power gains will I see from headers in combination with the Magnaflow? Is it more or less than when I put the catback on?

    * Will it drastically change the sound? The Magnaflow Catback I have is a really nice throaty, clean sound, not all lumpy.

    * What brand headers should I get to get the best performance increase and still sound good like it is, maybe just louder, but not obnoxious. I'd much rather not spend $550 - $750 as I've seen some for $275 - $400.

    * Regarding the install, how large of a project is this and how many hours should I expect the shop to charge me for?

    * Is there anything else that they need to do, any other parts or any other work to get them installed?

    * Lastly, will this affect my warranty?

THANKS A TON FOR ANY/ALL INFORMATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stay away from the shorties. Best bet is to see if Pace Setter makes them for your application.

If its loud, fast and runs on flammable liquid......count me in.

You've got a V8 truck. You've already kissed milage goodbye.

Your current manifolds are almost identicle to shorties, go for some long tubes.

    the manifolds aren't that bad.

I replied on the z71 board. I think you'd be happier with a new convertor, and it'd be a little cheaper.

So no headers, just the converter?
I really am not nearly as knowledgable as you all on this, but htought I'd read that headers are a great upgrade and a natural progression towards additional power gains right after doing the catback and the FIPK.

Torque convertor. I elaborated in my post on the other board.
