Guys, I am probably looking into some shorty headers...not really for much performance gain (maybe a little torque but i'm not expecting much) mostly I"m just looking at them for sound.

I have a 3/4 ton smallblock truck so the piping is all 2.75" dual all the way to the muffler. Just got the flowmaster catback (50 series bigblock...quiet)...

I was wondering what effect the headers have on sound...seems they'd help a lot since the exhaust pulses aren't being jammed through that crappy log.

    Anyways, I was just curious.

    Thanks.

I had edelbrock shorties on my '00 5.3 for a few months and it made the exhaust sound a lot deeper. Not much louder, just a deeper tone. I say go for it.
