    Hey all,
    I just bought a 2007 Chevy silverado classic 5.3L 4X4.
I'm very new to full size trucks as I just sold my 04 cobra
I'm looking for a nice mean sounding exhaust...dual all the way back.
I would be very appreciative of any info you all could give me.
    Thanks,
    James

I personally prefer the standard flowmaster 40's. Some think it's too loud in the cab, however. As for going to true dual, better check with the muffler shop, sometimes that's not a good idea because of the smog junk.
Chevy makes a fine truck, but a really bad airplane.

congrats man... i was a stang fanatic before i bought my 2007 i wanted a stang till one hit me head on in my 2000 silverado.. i walked away and said i want another truck it was just to dangerous to have one with my driving habits lol.... anyhow true duals hurt your torque from what i have heard... now i know mustangs have duals and all but i just have read alot on exhaust lately and from what i gathered a cat back is the way to go for the cheapest route.. and for even better go with long tubes with a high flow catted y pipe... the tubing on your truck and mine is 2 3/4 if you wanna keep the factory y pipe and manifolds bumping up to a single 3 inch exhaust will help alot... i suggest the magnaflow catback is relatively cheap and is all stainless steel... if you remeber 5.0 mustang (the mag) did a cat back magnaflow on a 03-04 and it made like 26 horses or 28 at the rear wheels... but anyhow it really depends on what you wanna do with your truck and what u wanna spend... im gonna buy my own 3 inch stainless tubing and a 3 inch magnaflow magnapac muffler and run that... good luck man... ant

I've got an 07 CC classic. Got a Corsa 14270 coming for mine. What sold me is the no drone part, none of the popping and raspy sound, as well as it's whisper quiet until you really romp on it.

I just put a 40 series on my 04 CCSB and it is a little loud inside and it pops and cackles at higher rpm's. I would do a 50 series or look into another brand.

Thanks all for the comments...I am going to be living in upstate NY so I think the best thing would be to get the magnaflows..I have heard them and they sounded great on a 5.7 hemi...so I imagine on a 5.3 they will sound pretty good as well.

    Re: New truck...need advise

good choice on the magnaflows... i have been doing a lot of communicating with magnaflow and my friend who owns a local performance shop... he specializes in stangs lol...www.bayoumustangs.com... anyhow...he orders my stuff for my truck... his supercharged cobra clone (gt) has the magnaflow magnapacs and i loved it... so im ordering a 14 inch long 3 inch inlet and outlet magnapac that is 6 inches around... im also bumping up to 3 inch stainless steel but im running a turndown also... i just didnt wanna spend the 450 dollars on a catback then cut half the tubing off... the magnapac is really loud were as the magnaflow has a nice rumble when u get on it and quiet at cruising speeds.... ant
