what should it cost me to get 3" pipe bent for my truck at 45 degrees for true duals? im gunna run new hi flow cats, 3" pipe and 4" tips at 45... im gunna do all the welding my self just trying to figure out what the pipe and bending it will cost me.
Dual 3"?
if you got a 6.0L youll be alright...
2.5" max.
3" it to big for a 5.3. if you were running single exhaust, 3" would be fine, but for duals don't go any more than 2.5" with 3" you will most of the scavaging in you exhaust, and alot of low end power. with a smaller pipe, your exhaust will scavenge better and have a higher velocity, and you will get better power out of 2.5" than you will 3"Originally Posted by Y&BZ

What he said.
You need to retain your back pressure. If you want it loud, do 2 1/4" into your 4" tip. It will be pretty loud and will off echo off everything.

Only your bottom end. Unless you're planning on forced induction and a lot bigger engine do not do 3" duals. Best setup would be either a single 3" or dual 2.25" if you're doing a true dual. Also, if you're doing duals put in a crossover like either an x or h-pipe to balance the pulses between the two banks. Also I hope you're planning on some mufflers too since with straight pipes it'll sound like assshole.Originally Posted by Y&BZ

straight pipes sound like as$

yes, straights sound good, and dont put an h or x pipe in it, the crackling part is the best
im completely serious!
Yes; because sounding like a 40 year old log truck with a misfire is a great sound. Going to a true dual exhaust doesn't require a crossover, no; but it does add some power back to something that would be way overkill for a stock engine. Unless of course you just want an obnoxiously loud truck that sounds horrible and makes you look like a dumb**** 18 year old high school kid.....oh wait, nevermind.Originally Posted by LoudBigBlue
