I have a 98 silverado 5.7 vortec and I was wandering how this exhaust setup would sound. I want to cut my cats off and run 2.25in pipe from the headers on back with an x pipe in it with 4in tips I also want to have my truck tuned so my service engine soon light stays off and get some extra ponies as well. I know it will be load but I've always liked a loud exhaust anyways, just wanted to get ya'lls opinion on how you think it would sound.

I think it sounds descent w/o cats. Buddy has the a similiar set-up on his 98 and it is loud but I dont think it sounds that ****ty.

I don't think it will sound that great unless you put headers on it. I'm running open headers right now until I get new cats installed. Sounds pretty good.
