It is an aftermarket system. I'd wonder who makes it for GM and buy it from them directly and save a few $$ :)

This is a discussion on GM Performance Exhaust within the Exhaust forums, part of the Performance category; Anybody have a GM Performance exhaust? Ever heard one? Just curious how it compares with the aftermarket systems....

probably sounds like shi.t. that muffler is reallllly long lol
Depending on what year vehicle it is for decideds who made it. Right now Borla is making the system for the NNBS truck but a few years ago Corsa was making it. Everytime GM does a bodystyle change they have the aftermarket companies make designs for them, then GM tests them and choses who they want to make it. GM did have Borla change the system slightly because they were worried that with the design that they brought to them for the dual rear exit that went around the spare tire would bend in a rear end hit and pierce the fuel tank. Now the system stays much closer to the center of the truck and the spare has to be removed. I installed a system on a new truck about a month and a half ago, it sounded good but not nearly loud enough for me. It did sound much better when you took it out and droped the hammer than it did just sitting in the shop reving.

Borla has been making the GMPP exhaust since 2005. Thats when Corsa lost the license to manufacturing it. The reason Corsa lost out to Borla, Corsa refused to put GMs name on the muffler, Borla agreed to put GM on there. (acording to 17 year senior GM parts manager and Corsa)
The GMPP side exhaust single pipe is 2.75 dia. same as stock. Don't know what the dual pipes measure. The Corsa single is 3" all the way back. Only difference in GMPP sport and touring is length of muffler.
I had a GMPP on my 05 Sierra for a short time. Yes I contacted Borla and they made it, even had Borla on the instructions.I am running Corsa now, no comparrison in my opinion.
One problem with the single GMPP, it interfears with my Hellwig rear sway-bar, Corsa does not.
Corsa sounds better also.
Have a good one,
Don

Corsa is now selling univeral mufflers (approx. $160-$200 each). Currently, they just offer the smaller mufflers for mustangs etc... It would be nice if they would sell their truck mufflers individually.
In my case I do not need the whole catback just the muffler - probably the sport...
i would like to buy just a muffler and do my own exhaust, i cant afford to pay their prices, plus they dont make a kit for my truck
