Me and my buddies are planning on gutting my cats out but it looks like its not very easy to do since the cats are right after the manifolds. I cant decide how I should gut them... Cut a hole and punch out the honey comb??? If anybody could help me out with this thats already done it with experience I could really use the help.

    Thanks

Not the best of ideas. if you have a stock muffler, expect ZERO power gains.

Unless they are plugged, there is no reason with todays high flowing cats to punch them out. Even then, I owuld replace them, as I dont like the bad smell that un catted vehicles produce

You have to cut them out as they are right after the manifolds.

I have not personally done it but I know people who have and they cut them off the truck, then broke all the stuff out of them, and had them welded back on.

Good idea since that's against Federal law and you wouldn't pass inspection in a state that checks them...
