    How much of a factor does tip size play when it comes to exhaust? Will a larger tip create a louder exhaust or will it be quieter or no difference? Performance wise anything? I wouldn't think so as far as performance. It what about volume? And observations or input is appreciated.


    2003 4.8l, 6" lift, 305/55/r20 trail grapps, cherry bomb xtreme, 4.11's, and some other goodies ;)

    Tips will help tone and deepen the sounds of the exhaust, not performance gain, but they make it sound better.

    Yep, these two guys are correct. The tip just acts like a megaphone to the exhaust

    Ok so I have access to some 4" tips just have to have them welded on. Currently have 3.5" tips on the truck. Think its worth the trouble?


    2003 4.8l, 6" lift, 305/55/r20 trail grapps, cherry bomb xtreme, 4.11's, and some other goodies ;)

    is there a length difference between your current and the 4"?

    4" will make it sound deeper if its the same length

    i went up to 4" and was much happier

    i went the cheap way and got 6" piece of duct work (3 feet long). it cost 2 bucks and change instead of what ever a real 6" tip cost's. it made it louder and deeper.
