Im new here just like alot of people post but im just trying to find out what would be a good exhaust set up. Right now I got passcetter Shorty headers with no cats o2 simulators a.d 2inch pipe dual into a dual in dual out 40 series flowmaster dualed out with 2inch pipe. I was told 2 incb pipe is restrictive the way I have it set up. The motor is original with just spectre intake summitracing 8mill wires and rotor button n cap. 48000 volt coil throttle body spacer and max energy programmer. Idk if that all matters but whats yalls opinion about the exhaust. Do run 35s on the truck with 4.10 gears. And is 4x4

Well, the flowmaster is probably the most restrictive part of your system. Look for a straight-through (instead of chambered like the flowmaster) muffler design like a glasspack or a gibson for better flow. I'm not sure about the pipe diameter, I have the same dilemma as you about the pipe diameter, but i probably wouldn't go any bigger than 2.5 in the dual part, maybe even that is too big. You need SOME restriction for a relatively stock engine, and GM designed it with a dual 2 inch to single 2.5 inch so there might be something to that.
So what about a magnaflow? Ive seen thpughs and they go straight through. pretty much like glass packs and a dual n dual out series?
I have a magnaflow muffler on my chevy. I really like the tone of it...

What year is urs? I used to have complete straight pipe with and x pipe I really liked it but thought it was loosing power from now back pressure?
Im just trying to find the loudest exhaust I can get but with keeping enough back pressure for motor too. Idk if having maybe a single a glass pack where its y'd n and out would b louder and still have pressure. Unless having just and x pipe is fine again idc id rather get opinions firat
I had a 1998 that was running true duals with just glasspacks. Loud as hell! But lack of back pressure made it a dog. Just install a high performance cat and your choice of muffler and you'll be good to go...
