what size injectors and what type of pump. where can i get a custom tune for the s/c setup at a reasonable price? also is there a nitrous kit or cam and lifter kits that i could use on it? is there any drivetrain components you would recomend me getting?

yeah you can't use a hypertech programmer, or any other programmer that advances the timing when you have forced induction or nitrous.

Arizona Speed & Marine has the 43lb 8.1L Marine injectors you need. $430ish

Thunder Racing or TByrne has the 255lph in-line pump you need for about $170

As for custom tuning.. I dont know who you have in your area but if there are no great F-Body tuners in the area then call up Westers or Nelson Performance or one fot he other mail-order tuners.

Dont add any other HP producing parts until you get the blower dialed in and safe. You could be leaving a lot of HP on the table without a real tune and no fuel system, seen it time and again.

what about the whipple programmer. i'm not for sure if it advances the timing but i heard that you can increase the boost 1psi, all the settings are the same as hypertech though.

should i get the tuning done with a smaller s/c pulley first or the factory? also i can't find any vaccume lines to put the boost gauge so i'm not even sure how much i'm running. can i just tap into the intake after the s/c or will that not work?

is it a programmer sent with the blower? i had a lot of problems when i installed a supercharger on my 97 sonoma. little did i know that the previous owner had installed an ADS superchip piggy back chip. but it was under the cover of the ecu so i never knew it was there till later on. like i said, if it's a programmer from whipple to work with their blower then i'm sure it's fine, actually better than fine, i bet it'll make the blower work even better with your truck.

The programmer, piggyback injectors, and computer that come with the whipple kit should be thrown in the trash immediately after opening the box.

Who told you that could increase boost with their programmer?

If you plug a t-valve into any smaller vaccum that is what you can hook your boost to. Go bigger injectors so you can safely go with more boost, you can also with a cam like in my sig also head work port and polish job but find a reputable place that has done aluminum heads so you know it's done right, if you plan on modding you truck more and more you might look into getting a program like hptuners or ls1edit and just taking it to a local speed shop that has a dyno they will usually charge bout $150-$250 just depends

but doesn't it have to be after the s/c to work. i can't find a vaccume line after the s/c to tap into.i did't know if i could tap and dye a fitting into the intake after the s/c and it still work properly. will that cam work for the s/c setup? i got an extra set of heads that are getting ready to get ported and polished. can't wait. thanks for the advice

Yeah that cam as well as any would be great, when you put your new heads on i would go ahead and cam it to might as well while you are in there right? Find a vaccum port on the intake i believe there is one on the top somewhere can't remember for sure but just get a t-valve like the one you use on an aquarium they are really cheap and just t into it all you are doing is measuring the vaccum. My next mod is a turbo i have a brand new ball bearing turbo just waiting i know the feeling this cam has been sitting for 2 months now. Have you ever been to the track?

never thought of the top part of the intake. thanks. nope, haven't been to the track ye. gas is too damn expensive. i've been reading though and i should expect a low 14 high 13 1/4 mile. a set of slicks and 4:10 gears would really help though. i'm just trying to get as much out of the 5.3 as possible.
nice looking truck too. what you think of mine? i was lucky and got mine from good grades in school. over $55,000was invested right off the lot. first owner ordered it black and sent it straight to the paint shop to get silver. he wanted black to be under the hood and on the firewall instead of silver.must be nice to have that money.i'm looking at about 390hp. not 100% sure though. so is that an sts turbo or are you going different?

    thanks for the advise though.

My cam goes in tomorrow i am expecting to be in the mid 12's on the bottle and on drag radials. The turbo i am going to do is a t-76 and i am just going to fabricate a kit myself we have done it already on a mustnag and a chevelle. I have a friend that has a 02 5.3 with a 225 shot and cam head work etc... his best time is 7.3 in the 1/8th so that's my goal till i blow it up the it's 6.0 time. Your truck is a very clean truck looks nice and a little different from everyone else that is out there

You shouldn't even consider using nitrous until you find out what you actually have under the hood. You could make more power for the money by using the meth injection. Nitrous is a lot more expensive than blue washer fluid.

Yeah no nitrous unless you plan on building a block just up the boost get a cam do the head work get more fuel to it via injectors and bigger fuel pump should be a mean mofo :) we may have to meet somewhere in the middle one day to see who's faster ;)
