This is a discussion on vortec intake manifold question within the Port Injection (96+ / OBD-II) forums, part of the Performance category; It's the Delphi Multec upgrade....
It's the Delphi Multec upgrade.

These are what I was talking about:

I'm looking into building a 383 this summer, nothing crazy, I'm shooting for around 300-350 hp at the crank. Would the stock injectors/fuel pump be enough? Would I benefit from the Delphi Multec upgrade?
I have looked into this as well as far as I know yes your stock injectors will support 300hp. I will find out when I get mine up and running for sure though. I keep hearing about references to a guy who got 400 out of the Multec style, I don't know much about that build or the accuracy of the information.
Not sure why this isn't a sticky.. But this thread has a lot of information for most of the questions your gonna ask (or I did) http://www.fullsizechevy.com/forum/g...e-toolbox.html
Thanks a lot! I've been looking around for some info and haven't had much luck. That answered a lot of my questions. That thread should definitely be a sticky!

that is an awesome article man! i have really been looking at a 383 block to swap with my 350. i would reuse the heads and put a holley mpfi manifold on it. with a cam, roller rockers and a tune i hope to get some good numbers.
No problem, It helped me a lot too.
Sounds like a solid plan, just be sure to balance the budget with that pricy intake setup. I wouldn't worry about raw numbers, set a budget and see what you can get. Lots of searching will find you lots of different builds and opinions, find a common denominator and use that part. At least that is my approach.
