I have been checking this swap out for awhile now for my 97 Tahoe with very few engine mods. Finaly made up my mind after a few E-mails with lextech. He set me up with all that I need should get going on it by tuesday night. I bought a 2001 G3500 van for $500 dollars thinking it had the 411 but I was wrong and it has a black box. So lextech set me up. My plans are to pull the engine and trans out of the van. Build a 383 and rebuild the 4L80e and put in the tahoe at a later time. Van runs awsome now with 137000 miles on it so its a good parts truck. I would like to keep the stock spider injection, have updated spider in the tahoe now. I have to pass New York state Readiness monitor test for inpections. I have never messed with programing a pcm and do not know any one that has. So that part has me worried. I would welcome all input on this and a big thank you to Lextech for all of my ??s
    Thanks, Joe

    Re: 411 Swap

With Lextech's pinout the swap is very straight forward. Takes a few hours but you'll be up and running in no time. Are you getting a software package or having someone else do the tuning?

    Re: 411 Swap

lextech is just doing a speedo correction and the 2002 van tune I think thats it for now. For tuning I dont know what to do. Have never done any pcm tuning before. I have E-mailed justin @blackbear and if I do it by mail it will most likely be him. I would like to try it my self but the price of it, then the Programing part freaks me out. I have been looking at EFILIVE, But I woudnt even know what to buy and what to do with it. I do have a Snap-on Solus pro scanner and do use it quit a bit. I do alot of side work. I am a Motor Coach ( Greyhound style bus) Tec by trade for 25yrs so wiring and schmatics I am very fimilar with and looking at data, but changing that data??

    Re: 411 Swap

There's a big learning curve and its time consuming. The people on the efilive forum are a great help.

You could look for someone selling a used v2, then you'd just need 1 vin (tunes on efi live are per vin) so then you could tune it as many times as you want(or need to )

Did justin have any suggestions? I bought my V2 through him, and he's helped me out with my tunes as well

Is the V2 all that I need, what about cables and a starting point. Or just use the forums to get me started. how much does the used software go for usualy. Thanks, Joe

It should come with everything in the picture. There is a link on that page to check out the software before you buy....when it installs under the help section there are a few tutorials to read through so you can get a feel for what you're getting into

P1665 Evap vent solenoid control circuit, P1637 Generator L-Terminal Circuit. Loged codes but no MIL light. Had MIL light from crank relearn but did relearn and no more MIL light. Truck is alot more responsive and idles like new. Lextech is sending me another PCM with the two turned off. He is a god in this stuff.
Ya the pup is awsome its are 3rd Barnard, lost the last one in feb. from cancer she was 7 1/2 years old. My wife took it really hard we were not gonna get another one. But once your a dog person its really hard to come home to a dogless house.
