what to do when i dont have a clue!!

hey everyone,

to start heres my motor.

350 bored 60 over
flat top pistons with 4 valve relief
comp 270 cam
vortec heads with alum carb intake
carb to tbi adapter, tbi spacer, tbi (ultimate mods done) w/454 injectors
18 psi fuel spring (as per harris performance suggestion) and vortec fuel pump (harris performance suggestion again)


now i have my timing set at about 8-10 deg base timing. i can start it up and it will lope real slow for a few seconds then the computer will take over and it will idle up to 1100 rpm. (just seen where idle control valve will cause this) but i can look under the truck and see the black smoke coming from my pipes!!! harris performance says that he cant build a chip for the cam, i dont doubt him at all, just wondering if anyone else has attempted this cam or similar? also am i way over fueling with the bbc injectors? i built the motor about 2 years ago, i ran the tbi for a few months then put a carb and different dist in it. but i got tired of the carb so i wanted to go back to the fuel injection.
