I guess i'm finally getting around to getting this fixed.

I tinkered with my truck a few years ago, put true duals, injector spacer, tb spacer, ground ridges, shorty headers, and a cheap chip. It over loads right past idle and lopes and coughs after it is warmed up. When the exhaust was put on they left the stock y-pipe so I didn't touch the 02 sensor.

I'm going to have the y pipe replaced and would like to know your guys thoughts on where the 02 sensor should be put. My truck came factory with a 3-wire. Any use putting two on (one for each bank)?

The drivers header has a bung in already, will that solve my problem?
Hoping for a little better mpg. 13-14 right now.

    Thanks

defiantly put the one back in the drivers side should help go into closed loop faster and solve some of your problems but I dont think you need to bother putting two in since your truck only came with one.

The description of your exhaust is confusing, true duals have no Y pipe.

You would have a crossover if the job was done right.

The closer to the head, the happier the NBo2. If you can, get it 6"-12" from the head.

He used the stock y-pipe for the down pipes. It was cut in half at the y, cross over was connected to new pipe, and the other part of the y was connected to the other new pipe and plugged up where it was originally hooked up to the cross over.

That was the cheap way out for me as a dumb teenager.

When I can figure out how to get my iphone pictures on here i'll just post some pictures.

That exhaust sounds like a straight up hack job and you're going to need to be more specific regarding this "cheap chip"...

The whole exhaust is nothing near a hack job. He just didn't put new pipe in where the y-pipe is originally.

The chip is a jet powr shift kit. Cheap.

Whats the best way to get pictures on here?

Hmm... Well to answer your question on 02 sensor placement the drivers side header collector will work fine. Although I don't believe that will solve the problems your having.

To post pictures you need to upload the images to a hosting site like Photobucket and then copy and paste the image url to your post I believe.

Did these problems surface after you installed the jet chip? Are you getting any trouble codes thrown?

    Re: truck overloading past idle

I was wondering about getting an extension and just using that drivers side header. And no the chip never caused any problems when I put it in. I put the headers on about 6 months later and not too long after that is when it started loping.

It used to throw a tps sensor code that I never could get fixed (put a new on on and even tried wallering out the bolt holes to rotate it. Just put a new unmolested sensor back in and ignored it. The code went away after about three months. Two years later it still shows no codes.
