I just got my engine running and the truck is drivable. Whats everyone running for a performance fuel pump? I know the engine isnt making a ton of power but for some reason i dont think the stock pump is cutting it, whenever i step on it in can feel it running out of fuel. Also i need this thing tuned so i can get the best of of my setup. I thought about EBL, i know it costs quite a bit, but is it worth the money? Do i have any cheaper options? The truck is a '90 K2500 LD, stock tbi 350 bottom end, GMPP vortec heads, GMPP intake, comp XE262H, shorty headers. Ive tried bumping up the fuel pressure with the regulator but it seems to run rich at idle. Ive tried searching but i dont seem to have much luck. Im really close to being able to drive it again and i need it soon, so any help is appreciated. Thanks everybody.

Well, the popular upgrade pumps start with the 94-95 BB TBI pump good for 28-32psi.

TPI pumps are a standard 43psi deal.

The vortec pump is 58psi rated.

Yes the EBL is worth every penny.

Thanks for the reply. What all would i need to order from EBL to tune my truck? How difficult is it to tune?

The EBL is almost (or just plain is, depending on application) plug & play. Once it's installed (in place of the original ECM) you flash a BIN to it and go from there. I would say to get the TT1 wideband with it, because you'll need it for anything besides cruising speeds. I would do a little reading on tuning (VE tables, etc.) as well, it should help you understand a little more.

    '92 Sierra (TBI 383/Vortecs/Comp 08-412-8/EBL/4L60/3.08s), '78 Malibu (Vortec'd 350/4-speed/2.29s), '87 Pontiac Fiero GT (2.8 v6/5-speed)

I got a fuel pump from TBIchips.com. It's good for up to 400hp so i've read, I also picked up a gauge so i can make sure i know how much fuel im putting into the engine. So my fuel issue should be solved. I need to get the rest of my exhaust welded back up and run my EGR as soon as my vortec headers get here. After that i'll be ordering my EBL because it sounds like thats my only option other than chip burning(which i hear takes a long time and ends up costing more money in the long run). Im gonna spend some time reading up on tuning and do some web searches so ill at least have SOME idea of what im getting myself into. Im really interested in learning how to do my own tunes, this should be fun.
