Wondering if some of yall could help me out. I have heard that if you have a TBI 350 that you can install a HEI distributor to get more power and make it run better. Need some input on the wireing and what to do. I have a HEI distributor but no sure what needs to be done or if its better. Also wondering what all can be done to a gm TBI. Heres what i got the motor is the GM crate 260 horse 350 that jegs sells. I put all new gaskets and cleaned it up. I switched it to fuel injection and put the TBI heads on it.

Old school HEI won't work, the TBI distributor is controlled by the computer.

Actually there is a large cap HEI distributor that is ECM controlled.

I have no idea where you read that it would be an upgrade but it is wrong and there is no reason to change the small cap HEI distributor.

TBI does use HEI, just isn't coil wedged in cap design.

No gains to be had by going backwards.
