This is a discussion on Auto 4wd within the Track / Dyno forums, part of the Performance category; will it hurt anyting racing with the auto 4wd on...
does any one know?
if your drag racing just run 4hi. you don't want to have any wheel spin at all and with the auto it will have a little plus its going to ingage the fronts with you at wide open throttle. I dont see that being good on parts

what exactly does that do?
05 ccsb/33in goodyear kevlars/cranked t-bars/true dual glasspacks dumped
Leave it in 4hi for the whole run, I just have always had a problem with the whole shifting my t-case into a different gear under WOT. Just me though...
To the OP, are you experiencing traction problems already? What's your setup?
Do you mean why run it 4hi? If so, then you haven't witnessed a fast truck trying to launch at the track lol.
Built tranny sitting in the bed waiting to go in. Good things to come...
nice one pewter
the duramax wheel hops pretty good when i stall it up and launch in 4 hi, its stock too. but yes its a traction issue.

Nice Integra on the side lol
i have the same issue with traction, i use 4 hi
Use it for launch, soon as you shift out of first, switch to 2Hi while you're going slow enough to be able to turn it off, at a certain speed it locks the transfer case so you don't damage anything, I wouldn't go much faster than say 45 in 4WD, any faster probably isn't safe if you need 4WD for traction.

hey wats work of it????????
Don't be surprised when your tie rods give way lol
4wd is fine at high speeds. high powered dmax guys do it all the time. and if your making a lot of power just get some tie rod sleeves so they dont break
