for a rebuild(4L60E) at a shop doing all the work for you around 1800-2600 for a beefed up rebuild. slightly higher labor costs for a 4x4.
As for 4L80E
and or manual swap will be more expensive IMO.

my 99 z71 only has about 130k on the odometer
im wondering when ever my tranny goes (4l60e) what i should go about doing because ive got alot of questions
1 if i rebuild my 4l60 how much would it cost and how much power would it be able to handle
2 would a 4l80 bolt up to my 5.3, is this tranny longer, if it is im sure i would have to get new drive shafts
3 if i can save up the coin how much would it cost to put a manual tranny in there ( i know i have to cut a shifter hole and make bracketry for a clutch petal but what else)
if yall could answer my questions id really appreciate it

O2 GMC RCSB 4.8L V8 AUTO 3.73's
rebuilt/beefed up 4L60E(at 43,000miles)
Matching Ninja 500r
i added a large hotrod style trans. cooler when i had mine rebuilt and a zpak 3-4 clutch kit and a shift kit..its a world of impprovement
i looked at 4l80e swaps too and you'll definitely need a crossmember theres a few places out there that make them and if i remember correctly on my ECSB i could use 2500 suburban driveshafts and not have to change much if any..i'm not sure about the electrical part of it tho![]()
yea mine will be a offroad setup
i mean my tranny still has a while to go.... i hope
but if im gonna rebuild it im going to try and get it as strong as possible
Are you wanting to build this yourself? Or have someone build it? Dana
