I have a Raptor 700R4 from PATC, when cold, it makes a "creaking" noise(Like stepping on a loose floor board in a haunted house) when shifting from 1st to 2nd.
It also Occasionally happens when warm, and when manually downshifting into second. Almost like the band is hesitating to apply full pressure.
    Any ideas?

Might be a bad seal somewhere. Does it do it in reverse?

No, Reverse is fine. It wouldnt really stay in 1st gear too long, immediatly shift into 2nd, and if you dont drive like a grandpa, it would make that noise into second gear.

    Update:
The last couple of days, it has been shifting normal,I.e; stays in first longer, and shifts at what seem to be normal shift points....now, here`s the kicker. Drove to Turlock(bout 19 miles) travelling mostly on country roads at 55 mph. From a stop, it would stay in 1st for waaaayyy long, then shift hard into 2nd for just about as long( Made the creaking/slipping noise a couple of times), would stay in 3rd till about 45mph, the to 4th normally. got back home after the arrands, let the truck sit for about 20 minutes, went back out, and all seems normal.....Maybe something is stuck? just did fluid and filter 3 weeks ago when I replaced the transfer case.It seems that all the gears are there...WTF? Time for a 4l80?
