Anyone have experience with FAST or TCI products? My ez-tcu hesitates on the 2-3 shift. I've been messing with the setting but can't quite figure it out. I have a 93 4L60E with a 2200 stall and a shift kit and carbed 355 with a big cam if that has anything to do with it

    Re: TCI ez-tcu trouble

does the issue happen only at wide open throttle?
does the issue happen all the time?
what settings are you messing with?
tps sensor? installed correctly? is it adjustable and is voltage within spec? ie smooth linear response.

It's at 3/4 to full throttle and the tps and everything is installed correctly and all voltage and whatnot is ok. I've tried messing with shift firmness and aggressiveness and max shift rpm and high speed/low speed shift points. It's only the 2-3 shift

    Re: TCI ez-tcu trouble

Idk I was told by the guy that built it for me that it's a custom kit. And I don't have a vette servo. It was absolutely fine until I put the tcu on it, so I figure it has to be computer related

have the guy that built the tranmission check it out.
do you have a line pressure gauge? if not have him check line pressure while driving. can you read live data for the control unit? if so bring that along so he can confirm line pressure vs shift commands, etc.

    Re: TCI ez-tcu trouble

The guy is an old ignorant bastard. He did a great job building it and it worked great. He won't look at the tcu and has no desire to understand it. The guys at TCI weren't much help either but they mentioned that if I already have a shift kit and stall the tcu will not work properly. Being that the tcu is made to retrofit modern transmissions into high performance applications and most high performance transmissions have shift kits and stalls, it sounds like BS to me.

    Re: TCI ez-tcu trouble

so i guess you will be getting a line pressure gauge and doing the tuning yourself.
put a line pressure gauge on the pressure test port and go for a drive to verify proper line pressure.
Base pressure at idle in P,N,OD should be around 70psi and around 140psi in R. Max line pressure should be at least 190psi at WOT in 1st or 2nd, 225psi is optimum.
If base pressure is low, trans or pump is worn out. If max pressure is low, check EPC solenoid. If reverse is slow to engage,
and line pressure does not come up to at least 130psi in reverse, replace the boost valve with a Transgo 0.500" boost valve (easy fix in pan).

Call me a rookie, but where do I get a line pressure gauge and where is the test port located?
