95 GMC Build Thread...attempt.

This is my 1st ever build thread hope to learn a lot this way and get other people's input. So the truck....its a 1995 GMC 1500 (dont be fooled by the silverado molding on the side lol) 2wd ECSB. I bought it will 85,000 miles on it late last fall from an older guy about an hour away. And for being a WI truck it doesnt have a whole lot of rust. Heres a couple pictures from the day i bought it.



I havnt done much to it since i bought it. Just put in a set of 10k HIDs and removed the chrome from the wheel wells and put my subwoofer in it. I did buy a DJM 4/6 drop for it from a guy on the forum but had to sell the spindles because they were the wrong ones for my truck.....still have yet to buy the right ones. Also bought a rear bolt-on roll pan from Grant Kustoms. I plan on installing both within the next month of so....a bit tight on money now.

OH almost forgot. duh. I bought a set of 22s from a friend that i plan on putting on in a few mins here ;) ill be sure to post a pic of them mounted but here is a cell phone pic of them in my room

Well this may not be a fast build but i just hope it is fun and a good learning experience!

4/6 Drop
Smoothie Painted to Match
Roll Pan Painted to Match
Window Tint
Tint Taillights
Clear Headlights (possibly tint a set)
Remove Side Molding
Switch Bench Seat with Buckets/ Concole
Replace Stock Speakers
Clean up Engine Bay
....Maybe add a sticker to add an extra 5hp :P

Well got the rims on i like it a lot!!! just sits higher so i really want to get it dropped now! Heres a little pic after a bit of photoshop.

I'd suggest going with 6000K HID lights. They give better light output and 10000K just look stupid. Anymore photos with the wheels on?

i know the 6000k work the best but i wanted the pure blue light that the 10000ks have. just personal opinion. yeah i took a couple let me up load them to photobucket quick

heres a picture of the daily that has given me an ultimatum to using the truck.
then i got the ugly chrome front bumper off today to put the smoothie on


been riding my moto bike a lot lately so i havent had time or energy to work on the truck a lot but now have plenty of time seeing how i cracked my subframe and bent my exhaust.
plan on ordering some clear headlights/running lights this week along with some leds.

just worried about making the switch to leather.....dont really care about them not matching the rear. .....they look comfy

What are you worried about leather? As long as your ac works, I sweat like crazy on leather with no ac. Easy to clean though. Truck looks bad ass by the way.

just got the bumper on. needs paint though. i heculined the rear side of the bumper hopefully make it last longer. not that i plan on driving it in winter. front is just rattle canned for now until i get some more money, tinted the running lights, they dont look too bad. i think ill like them

Looks pretty good man. I think the seats will look good in there. I've been thinking about running a newer style seat in the Tahoe so I'm anxious to see yours mounted.

wow havnt been on the site in awhile. but its 5:30 in the morning and im still up so look where i eneded up!
latest update;
had problems with the front fenders and the belltech spindles so i had to make an attempt at rolling my fenders.....and i must say....fml. drivers side looks pretty bad, passenger sides ...ok. ill post up some pictures tomorrow of how she sits. Now i need a rear wheel cylinder and to adjust some of the needles on my cluster that are way off. I have off of work in the mornings until after the 1st of the yr(lay-offs) so im hoping to get some work done, possible mount the rollpan up. cant really afford to buy much now with work....oh and getting married in two weeks. like i said ill post some more pics in the morning.

rolled the fenders with a wood clamp over the coarse of 3 hours was quite the pain in the @ss
