When my grandpa was alive, he always wanted his truck to be the baddest, loudest, fastest thing around. Whenever he would go to a car show he would always try to get my grandma to let him put exhaust on it as a start, but obviously she wouldnt let him. When i was a younger kid i would always help him take care of his truck and work on it.
This is him and he truck shortly after he got it.

And me and him when i was a kid

He passed away July 7, 2009. The day before i turned 16. The first thing i wanted to do when i got my license was pick him up in my own truck and take him golfing or fishing. So what was i supposed to do? Hmmm..... How about i buy his truck instead? Sounded like one heck of a plan to me, so thats what I did! I went to the bank and got out some money, brought it to my grandma and said "here. im buying grandpas truck. its not enough but i plan on paying as much as you want me to every month if thats alright with you and i'll do anything else you need me to." we agreed on some things and i took it home.

First thing I did was throw some exhaust on it. Not only because it was starting to rust and leak some, because thats one thing he wanted to do to it. I put true dual flowmasters straight out the back. My parents would always say they would hear me pull into the school in the morning, so i knew it was perfect.

I left the truck the way it was for awhile, doing small things here and there when i found cheap easy things to do, like a new radio (stock radio went out and im not a fan of listening to cassette tapes these days)

The next big thing i did was get all new headlights, parking lights and side markers. I went with the clear/ chrome lights from LMCtruck.com then got the amber parking lights from them, and went with the brightest headlights i coul find, which were the white silverstar ones (cant remember the name right now)

Again, i left the truck alone for awhile then decided it was time for a tune up, and i had some money in my pocket so i went with E3 spark plugs, msd cap and rotor, and msd 8mm plug wires. it made one heck of a difference, more than i expected.

some pics of the lights and truck....

pretty clean for a 93 truck from Michigan isnt it?

Heres some more pics of the truck and lights. I decided to take out the tow hooks and put fog lights in their place.

Also picked up some 18 inch Centerline wheels with Cooper Zeon Ltz's for dirt cheap from a guy my mom works with.

    (Favorite Picture of the truck:)

And then i got the great idea to build the truck...
This is what I want for now:
350 bored .030 over, good street cam, roller rockers, electric water pump, electric fans, EBL tune, and anything else i can afford right now that im forgetting.

Started tearing the truck down last weekend when i got home from school. A friend of mine is in an engine building class for me at UNOH (where i also go) and told me he would do the machining for me if i gave him a few bucks for doing it. Last summer I found a good deal on another good 350 block that was a 4 bolt main, so i decided i would go with that block instead of mine so i can keep mine as a spare block.

I call this one "Rudolph the Bad @$$ Reindeer"
(got bored when doing the headlights and painted my horn red. One reason i cant be bored around a can of paint)

    Got the intake off

Then the exhaust manifolds, most of the belt drive system, and the heads.

Couldnt get many pics of the truck and all the parts laying around the barn because i was in a hurry to get back to school. Ill get some thursday when i get home and add them to show the product of a productive weekend.
