Lower control Arm ?

I plan to bag my 88 with ART's bolt on Coolride front setup. I need to know how hard will it be to remove my old lower control arms and whats the best way of doing it? Will I need any special tools or is it pretty simple? Thanks

Basic tools, jack and stands is all you will need.

I just was'nt sure how hard it was to remove the arm from the spindel or if I needed to do anything special with the ball joints.

You'll need a small sledge hammer to seperate the spindle/control arm.

I don't know if it was just me, but on my 98 with only 45k miles I HAD to get the balljoint separator out. The only thing bad about that is it tashed the greese boot, but I 'think' you get a new bj with the coolride LCA - anyhow, I hope so that's what I was planning to do if my rimms will work with the new shocks.

also when removing those ball joints, just use a hammer, i used a pickle fork (the wrong way i guess) and cut the boot up.

Yes, the coolride LCA does come with new ball joints so damaging the old one is not an issue. I also plan to use a pickle fork.
