well, i wondered before i did it, and have seen various other questions, and no other threads on making a mount for a york 210 in the a/c spot on the obs, and don't wanna spend 150 for the kilby bracket. so, here's my mounting bracket build for my '93 V6 and the start of my bag/body drop project coming over winter. and yes, i do think it'll work on a 350.
for starters, got some metal. a 1/4x4x12" plate. and 5/8 OD .385" Id, 18" piece of tube. cost me like $20 shipped to my house
next, cut the pipe down to a hair over 3" to fit in the old compressor's spot. and cut the plate down. not sure of an exact dimension, but i'd guess 6.5-7".
next, drilled some holes in the plate. out of the manual at kirby, holes are 4.5" apart vertically, 3.37 horizontally. Mark it out on the plate, and drill.
next, cut two pieces of tube about 3/4" to connect the upper tube to the plate, and welded.
next, cut two pieces of tube about 2" to connect the lower tube to the plate., and welded.
next, mounted the two welded pieces in old compressor's spot. used my extra plate to check the levelness. i compared with it with my air filter lid. might need to remove and grind a couple of times to get it level. i did.
next, test fit your plate with your york, making sure the holes line up, and you have some plate sticking below the york. this is needed.
next, set your york, with plate mounted, onto welded tubes. figure out where it needs to be welded. i just made a little mark where i wanted to weld the lower set of tubes, removed the lower tubes, and tacked it on my workbench.
bolted up the tacked plate, york, and lower set of tubes. i then tacked in the second (shorter) set of tubes onto the plate while it was in the truck. blurry picture, but you get the point.
pull everything out. weld tubes on fully. and there's your york mount.
and mounted.
NOTES: there were some grinding/redrilling/whatever it takes to make that thing fit in quite a few of these steps.
As for the welded tubes, I welded them to the outside of the other tubes. I would keep one on the outside, and move the other one about a half inch in. if you look, you notice they hang over the plate. bad planning on my part.
a quick coat of paint, and it's done. and even if it does end up ugly, you can't see it, so don't worry too much.

wouldnt oil come out too?
Looks good
thanks. i don't know about the oil. but quite possibly. i'm new to the whole edc thing, so i'm kinda learning as i go, and learning from the york thread.
Bag. Drag. Get Layed.
i would keep an eye on the tubes that hang over the the plate... dont under estimate how much that york will shake and vibrate.. it would suck to be driving down the road and then it just give out.. but other than that it looks great
yeah,i was thinking i might reinforce that overhanging tube, or just hack it out and weld in a new one.

my old truck, 93 4.3 tbi with the kilby bracket
back in the day it was only 30bucks for the mount bracket
