I dont know alot about bags so ifI will be working on them every other week then maybe I dont know enough about them. I am thinking about baging my 2002 Sierra but I am worried that they will need alot of working on. Tell me what you guys think, Later

Air bags require very low maintenance. Shouldnt have to worry about them blowing out if they are installed properly, after all they are used on 18 wheelers.

BTW that 2800 dollar setup, check and see what kind of setup it is. Thats a low price, somebody else will chime in. Airbag suspension should not sacrifice quality.

You really want a list of items that comes with the $2800. What kinda parts (4-link, 2-link), what kinda valves (1/4", 1/2", etc) and what is your air supply?

You don't want a 315 Compressor and a 3 gallon tank if your going to be playing with bags all day. You'd easily want a 6 gallon and 2 big viair compressors.

Get a loist of parts you get....post it here....then we can help tune the system.

Maybe it's just me, but I had a bagged Sonoma a few years ago and I had nothing but trouble with it. I went through compressors like they were nothing. I'm guessing that the technology has gotten a little better since then, but I was running two of the larger Thomas compressors on two 7 gallon tanks (one compressor per tank) and I burned them up in two months. I had a big problem with leaks and burned out compressors.

JMHO...that's why the Sierra is static dropped. I don't have anything else to drive!

I haven't been impressed with the engine-driven kits that I've seen. Everyone that I knew that had 'em dithced 'em! Which brand of engine-driven compressors would you recommend?

And, I still don't trust bags. Plus, I used to drag the snot outta my Sonoma...a fate that I'm trying to save the Sierra from!

Yeah, but I'm not into man-lovin...sorry!

I just think that a nice static drop on a daily driven truck is all you need. But, then again, I think that I'm in the minority on this one!

Thanks! I like it the way it is too.

I'm not one to work on my own ride (unless it's motor related!) and I never could work on my bags. If something broke on the Sonoma, I had to have the truck taken somewhere and get it fixed, or have one of my buddies do it for me.

Coming from someone who had airbags...if you don't know how to work on 'em, DON'T GET 'EM!

(By the way, since I'm talking about the Sonoma, here's a pic of it....)

Heard of 'em. Seen some of their work. I wouldn't ever in my wildest dreams consider using that place for my bag job! All the stuff of theirs I've seen is purely hacked up JUNK!!!!

Almost forgot about that part...I have seen some of their work up close (at Showfest) and was totally UNIMPRESSED by all of it. Plus, they are kinda arrogant and snotty. I was asking some questions about their body-dropped GMC and they didn't really wanna talk to me.

I would say NO to the shop. How far are you from Jackson, MS? I've got friends in AcrophobiA that do airbags down that way, and they do some quality work! Or, there's Metal Werks in Alabama.

    Just some other options...

Yeah, that b/d GMC is the 1st thing I think of when I hear Silver Star's name. I was looking at it at Slamboree a couple years ago. It looked so beautiful from a distance with that color on it, and then I got up to it and saw how damn nasty it really was! I felt sorry for that poor truck.

Cheaper than replacing a couple Thomas's ever year or so. It's a really a good deal (even at the sticker shocking price you see). But, if you can get a deal on one, it's even better. I've been using my A/C for about 6 months, and it rules!!
