I have a 1991 Chevy truck that I am in the process converting from a 4.3 to a 383…
My question is does anyone have any information on 88-98 chevy truck that move the motor to the passenger side from the factory. My 383 is setting more to one side and is the away to fix this problem. With the motor setting to the passenger side reg header will not fit.

IIRC, its to provide offset for the ring and pinion gears.
got a pic of the offset engine and what mounts did you use in place of the 4.3 ones?

My 1993 frame offset was/is a mindfvck indeed. The entire backhalf was jigged offset because of it. And when I did the firewall I could never figure out why it wouldn't measure up correctly too side to side.
Chevy drivetrain offset=When you see it, you will schitt bricks.

I replied to you on Chevytalk as well but something to keep in mind is V6 or V8, the frames are the same. V6 just has those adapter plates on the crossmember that you remove so you can put normal V8 mount brackets in.

i think some of the reason for the offset engine is for steering box/steering shaft clearance, With mine now being RHD everything is very tight on the right hand side, Im running a ls1 in mine and custom headders are a must for me
This set up fit great in my 1990 c1500 truck and now i am trying to in install this same motor and tran from the 1990 truck into the 1991c1500 and nothing is lining up. After month of look and taking measurement I fig I will try the net.
The 1990 c1500 truck was a factory v-8 truck and the 1991 is a factory v-6 truck.
Before I buy a expense set of header I want to make sure this all works… I will make new mount if I have to.

I just went through a bunch of trouble figuring out mounts on my LT1 swap. You must use the V8 frame mounts and engine block brackets, and make sure your block bracket is in the correct set of holes on the pass side of the block (on the LT1 block there were extra mounting points anyway, not sure if all blocks are this way?) I played around for a couple hours trying to get mine to set right, any pics of how far it is off?
The engine is offset for steering shaft clearance as said above, headers can be a pita to install on the passenger side because of this.
On the older vettes, the engine used to be offset to allow a little more foot room for the driver and accommodate the three pedals, I like to use this point to compare my truck to a corvette.(It theoretically also offsets the driver's weight a little bit as well, but I wouldn't consider that a design feature as the tank is on the driver's side for some reason, and also due to how little is offset from centre).
