Doing the 2/4 drop on the 03 Reg. cab...I already have the rear shackles on but on the hangers is it easier to install with the bed removed? Do I still have to drop the tank? Just seems it may be easier to pull bed? Anyone that has done this that give me a little direction would be greatly appreciated...

You don't have to, but I think it's easier to work down, and in front of you than up over your head.

I have also done them without removing the bed but as BHB stated it is easier to remove bed. If you choose to remove I use a bright colored paint on the bolts before removing so I can get the bed aligned. Also use the blue painters tape with marks on it so you can get the cab to bed spacing correct! Good luck!
How do you use blue painters tape with marks? Do you just measure to the cab and make it a mark? I thought there was only 1 way the bed could go back on...
Pull the bed and drill out the rivets so you don't trash the stock hangers. Two reasons you shouldn't trash the stockers are because you will eventually want to go lower(4/6) so that will require a flip kit with stock hangers/shackles or someone else will pay good money for the stock hangers.

Pulling the bed is the only smart way. It takes 15 minutes and saves you hours.

What do you use saw horses to support bed while you have it off?
Anything the supports it just like the frame. Don't set it down on the bottom of the fenders! You can flip it and put it on the top rails or one end but if you have a 2 saw horses that would be easiest.
Too bad you are to far away or I could help you if needed. I am in Toledo, but looks like you are down near Dayton? You going to install a notch?

Cut an X in the heads of the hanger rivets with a cutoff wheel, then grind the heads of with a 4" grinder. Then pound out the body of the rivets with a drift punch.
