I have a 94 fullsize blazer. I have modified my transfer case in a way that it will never be a 4wd again. The front driveshaft has been removed also. Im wandering what else I can remove from the front end and still be able to drive around.
Eventually im going to replace the front suspension with all the components from a 2wd and drop it way down.
Tell you what. If somebody can give me some info, ill give you all the stuff I remove. (I still have to be able to drive the truck though).
I have a broken front drive shaft on my 97 yukon. Are they the same? If so I'll take the front drive shaft!

Im thinking its the stock shaft. I dont have the autotrac. I guess some came with it and some didnt for that year. It didnt vibrate but when I had my transfer case rebuilt it has a bunch of play around where it slides into the case. They greased it at the shop to keep it snug kinda. Im gonna take it out this weekend just so the thing doesnt fall out and create a safety hazard!

I mentioned this in another thread that you posted in: you cannot put 2wd front suspension on a 4wd frame.
Here's a thought: drive your truck the way it is now while you look for a 2wd frame. Then when you get the frame, bag, sfbd and back half it to the yukon's measurements. Swap bodies/drivetrain/etc and do the appropriate sheetmetal work and bam, you have a sick ride.
I must have missed your previos post. This guy down here told me that I could just swap out everything up front from a 2wd. I thought that sounded too easy.
Is it possible to marry the front section of the frame from a 2wd to my frame instead of doing an entire body/frame swap?
I also would rather not go with bags. I dont want to slam it. In the end I just want a soft ride that sits nice and low. The body kit im making will bring the body at least 3 inches closer to the ground. So the only issue Ill have would be the gaps between my tire and wheel wells. Do you know what the maximum amount of drop is possible without any major frame modification?

There are no spring pockets on a 4x4 frame to mount the coils required for 2wd, and that's just the beginning of the differences. Whoever told you that is seriously misinformed.
You could 'marry' the front section, but I think it would still require removal of the body.
For tire/wheelwell gaps you can lower the vehicle using keys, hangers and shackles... Or just do the bodydrop sans bags, lol.
As for your 'bodykit', I'm not even going to go there...

Thanks for the info on the suspension.
And you do realize the body kit is far from done, right? Of course it looks stupid right now because its in the middle of being fabricated. When its finished, it wont bulge out and look so bulky, everything will be faired in and flush with no body lines, and it will all be the same color.
