With my hotchkis 2/4 drop and the adjustable drop shackles...would would be the best way to get to a 4/7 or a 5/8 drop?

5-8 is stupid low for a daily driver on th 99+ trucks, not to mention you'll need to go to a lower profile tire.

Granted. But with my current suspension set up, i'd be willing to go with a 5/8 if i was forced to. It comes down to: i know how to get a 2/4. i know how to get a 4/6. But i don't know how to take my whole set up down another 2" without replacing the current drop. What would i have to do?

If you ever go 5/8, your truck would be virtually undrivable meaning you would scrape everywhere you go. Our style trucks are hard enough to drive around with a 5/7.
Don't know if hangers would work to get you the extra 2" plus the shackles you have adjusted to 1".
Don't know if you have your frame notched, but you would have to do that as well. Up front, some DJM 2" arms or 2" Spindles (not recommended) and cutting your spring to get 1" drop could get you down 5".

now when i put on my hotchkis 2/4...it didn't sit level, so i added the 1" shackle drop. Obviously i'm going to have to keep that if i want to keep it level. So what? Hangers in the back?

FU bish...i'm just trying to add up the cost BTW: if i have a 2/5 drop...and i want to go to a 4/7...i'd be dropping it 2 more inches, not 4. Leave the math to those of us that can do it

So with your current 2/5 you have 2" springs in the front, drop leaves in the back with a shackle?

What I would do, is get some 2" Western Chassis arms, keep your current spring in the front. For the rear, get ahold of some stock leaves, do an axle flip and set your shackle on 1". That will be a 4/7, it will still be driveable and it will be level.

You could probably make some of your money back by selling the drop leaves too.

i forget you have a 2-5 since your rear still sits about an inch higher than your front. i was thinking from a 2-4 to a 5-8 you brought up earlier........ i left out the dumb@ss factor

This is exactly the way I would do it if I were you. Can I assume this means you THINK you have solved your tire issue?

yeah, i think the tire issue is solved....but i'll know for sure this weekend when we pull a wheel. but what i don't know (and this is why i'm asking about more static drop) is if they'll still fully tuck...but i'm sure i can roll on a 4/7, no problem.

As far as the drop..i'd like to keep the handling if i can...i've really gotten to love how this bish drives So i'm think i'm going to go either WC control arms or DJM and hangers out back That is, of course, if i don't bag.
