i know this was addressed in the offroad forum, but are hubcentric wheels necessary if you are running 20s and low pros? i can understand if you have big tires the reasoning behind not getting lugcentric, but will lugcentric 20s be a bad think on a 99+ truck?

Having worked as a tire tech I can tell you that the install makes all the difference. Properly balanced and installed custom lugcentric wheels perform just as well as hubcentric.
Never argue with idiots, they drag you down to there level, then beat you with experience

the difference is that the 99-up half ton 2wd's use rack and pinion steering which is more sensitive to the small vibrations caused by lugcentrics than the recirculating ball steering found in every other chevy truck. Get teh hubcentrics, less to worry about if nothing else.

Exactly. There is a difference and you can take the chance and go with lugcentrics, but don't be surprised when your smooth riding truck turns to sh!t. Before I bought my h.c. Centerlines I ran ran lugcentric wheels, they rode absolutely horrible (even after several balances at several different places.) After that we put them on a '99 and the same thing went down only this time, it f*cked up 6 of the studs. Not saying the two are related, just tellin you.

Not only that, with 20's and lo-pros you can feel everything on the road. I'd hate to know how l.c. 20's ride.

Ranchhand, just so u know, Intro wheels are made to the chevy hub bore. So our wheels are actually hubcentric and lugcentric. 8)

Im still in the market for some wheels. I really want a new design but they have to be hubcentric and 16x10's.

i got american racing torq thrusts and they are lugcentric i believe.

    no vibrations, etc.

I strongly believe its more the balancing / installation that makes the bigger difference.

Hubcentric has more room for error with good results easier, but lugcentric can be just as good if done right

Intro is right......... any quality billet wheel manufacturer can build wheels specific for your truck with the correct hub bore diameter, caliper clearance pad, and proper backspaceing so you dont have to run gay *** spacers to make em fit right.

I can get you a set of 16x10 in any style Intro makes for 1250 and I can guarantee no vibration and that they are made for the Chevy truck hub bore. They will be hubcentric and they will clear all of your parts. You want a quality wheel, here it is. We have a new place we go to get the wheels clearcoated. They do awesome work, but the price is more. The price has gone from an extra 100 bux a set to 175 per set. I can cut u a deal tho.
