    knock/detenation sensor problem, 2000 z71 5.3ltr

    service engine soon light came on last night, ran the codes, came up with knock/detenation sensor, anyone had any problems with theirs also? wondering if i replace it, if its bad or another problem is causing it

    there are 2 knock sensors,there is a tsb about the rear one collectring water pass the boot and corroding the sensor and/or the connector.tsb states to replace needed parts and seal the boot with rtv.you ll have to pull the plastic intake manifold to access the sensors.

    thanks dude, ive just gotten the tsb, was on my desk , didnt realize it till after i made the post, off to replace it i guess, hate that damn mood light being on lol
