Is there any reason that I sould not get a fuel pump form NAPA? I was told that the NAPA pump, or any other after market pump, won't put out the pressure that a pump from GM would? Any thoughts on this? THanks for any help.

You'll be fine with an aftermarket pump.

Isn't NAPA just another reseller who has the same crap everyone else does, just repackaged?

from my experience go with the genuine AC DELCO pump, I have used other brands such as Carter ect... and had to replace them a year later because they got weak.. just my experience when trying to save a buck by using the aftermarket ones.

    Re: NAPA fuel pumps?

I just bought a new fuel pump last night from Pep Boys. It has a lifetime warranty whereas the one from NAPA had only a year warranty I think. It cost only $75 and it also came with two o-rings and a new wiring harness. I think it's a Carter/Federal Mogul brand pump. I was reading the warranty info that came w/ it and I think you need to replace the strainer along w/ the pump for the warranty to be honored. I picked one up anyway. I figured I'd replace everything I could while I had the sending unit out.

Carter makes excellent replacement fuel pumps and assemblies.Make sure you check out your harness.Carter is the only one who addresses the weak GM harness problem.

Had to have one put in mine a couple weeks ago. Went with the AC Delco for the low low price of $800 installed.

Where are yall getting your AC Delco pumps at, dealership? Also if the fuel send sensor is bad, dont you have to replace the whole pump assembly?

    Re: NAPA fuel pumps?

Napa and most other aftermarket parts stores all get thier pumps from airtex..which is the company who manufactuers them for just about every label out there..even the carter/federal mogul pumps all come from airtex...

its the same as the brake parts we all sell...sure we all have our labels put on them but everything comes from one place Brake Parts INC in mchenry il....

    same stuff just different label...

and as for he honoring of a warranty claim..the strainer better of been replaced..why would you replce the pump and only do half the job?

Carter/Federal Mogul not the same as Airtex. Seperate manufacturer.

    Re: NAPA fuel pumps?

When it came time to buy a new pump for mine, I went to the dealership. There might not be any difference, but I have talked to people that have had problems with ones from different places(Advance,Auto Zone)etc.

yes my bad i looked at work and its just our warranty pumps weather it be fuel or water or air all go to the same place..the actual manufacturer's are seperate...napa does however use carter/federal mogul for fuel and thier waterpumps are airtex's
