They make a windshield repair chemical. I bought some about 5 years ago at Auto Zone or Advance. Should have it at any parts store.

dad used to use a glass cutter to make a small perpendicular line at the ends of the crack, kinda looked like a tiny wall to stop them. i don't know if it seriously worked, but he said it did. i was about 14 at the time, though, so i believed him.

get one of those crack repair kits at a auto parts store, then drill a tiny hole(not all the way through the window just to etch the window) on each end of the crack to stop it from cracking then use the repair kit glue. will not work if the crack is too old.

Don't use rain-x. It makes the crack run faster and the repair glue won't stick. BTDT Other than that, what Neumannzz says. Dental burr works well for the hole.

Crazy glue the end of the crack...it works for a while but not a permanent fix.

Drilling a hole at each end is the best way to stop it. This will distribute the stresses at the leading edge of the crack over a broader area, which will stop it or at least slow it down.

I'm a structural engineer; we do the same thing to steel bridge girders to stop fatigue cracks.
