This is a discussion on Gas Pedal Sticking within the Technical / Maintenance forums, part of the General Discussion category; I just got my truck back from getting worked on and i havent driven it in close to 3 weeks ...
I just got my truck back from getting worked on and i havent driven it in close to 3 weeks because the brake line was rotted out.. so i got it back today from getting work done and when i was driving it home the gas pedal would stick at like 1/4 throttle.. Is this just because i havent driven it in soo long and it needs to get worn in again?? or is it something else?

That short of time would not make it stick. I would check the cable at the TBI and mounting bracket. The plastic sheild on the cable at the TBI end tend to crack an this could cause it to stick. If all looks good remove the cable from TBI likage and then check to se if cable moves freely back and forth. Also check that the butterflies on the TBI open and close all the way.

check all your throttle cables
I had this happen when I had a carb on my truck. If I remember right it was hitting the vent hose on the bottom of the air cleaner assembly or the base it self. It might be worth looking at.

This is my 1986 Chevy C10. It has a GM 350 create motor with TPI and a 700r4.
Not sure if this is an option on your truck, but the butterfly valve in the throttle body might be getting stuck on carbon deposits. clean the throttle body and see if that helps.

I did a big burnout before and let off the gas and the truck kept spinning the tire, I shut it off then moved the throttle and it was fine after that.
Spray it with wd40 or somethin.

or a floormat. Blew up (for all intents and purposes) a 4.3 that way. pinned the gas pedal almost to the floor. makes for exciting takeofs though.

Swapped the 2nd 4.3L for a '93 burb 350
And of course a 5-speed manny tranny

the throttle linkage was hitting the bottom plate on the K&N filter. It was myto take off the air cleaner ring spacer because the K&N sat too low with it off. So i put it back on and haven't had a problem since then.
