Help! Instrument Prnd Lights Went Out

Got in my truck this afternoon after work, guess what. The PRND indicator and mileage indicator won't light up. Everything else works fine. Is there a fix for this or what? I already checked the fuse that is in the dash. What else is there?

in the 06 or the 01? maybe a loose connection somewhere

In the 01, it worked this morning, but not this afternoon.

Ok, this morning I turned the truck on, and the mileage indicator works, tried it this afternoon it doesn't, tried it a hour later and it works again. What should I do?

I'm having the same problem with my 99 Chev, Odometer and PRND light doesn't work, any ideas on what causes this or how to fix?

No, I don't know what causes this. Mine is very sparodic, like it hasn't went out for the last two weeks, but then it might go off and on for two days in a row. I have been reading on the internet and it seems like it is a common thing.

its a defect in the cluster. thats the common problem with 99-02 instrument clusters. 03 and up clusters are having problems with bad stepper motors(motors that move the needle pointers. Try ebay and type 'silverado cluster'. theres a repair service available.

Google "instrument cluster repair" There are quite a few good reputable repair places that just fix clusters.
