Hey everyone, I just purchased a 2003 Silverado 2500, with the 6.0 engine. I can't find the oil capacity anywhere? how much oil does it take, I am going to change the oil this weekend as its pretty distgusting. Also where do I look to find out which axle ratio I have? Thanks in advance for your help.

You can find your rear end info on your SPID (service parts ID). It'll start with the letter G. Usually the SPID is in your glove box.

    Check here to ID it:

^^ thats allright, I didnt pay attention to the fact that most ppl on here are likely American. Another quick question, what size is the drain plug on this motor? 5/8 is too big and 9/16 is too small, likewise 16mm is too big and 14mm is too small? nevermind I guess 15mm is the logical choice, and it worked, thanks for your help everyone. It turns out I have the 3.73 rear end.

Yes it is a 15mm for your oil drain plug.

about 5.8 litres should put it on the full line. i work at a dealer here in edmonton, do this at least 10 times a day myself.

and most GM replacement drain plugs end up taking a 13mm socket, just for future reference.
