At work i'm trying to figure out a 2000 Chev Blazer with a 4.3.
It has push button 4WD, with an "Auto" selector button aswell.
The customer went and shifted the truck into 4 low without putting truck into Neutral first. At the present moment the tranfer case is in 4 low but the front wheel aren't locked.
Also there are no light on, for the 4wd selector switch. I'm wondering if the transfer case is jammed inside and it doesn't know range it is in.
Anyhow if anyone has encounted this on a fullsize or a Blazer can you give some insight on what to do. Thanks

Had the same issue on my 96 k1500, also melted the main wiring harness on top of the motor, which allowed me to shift into 4hi, then 4lo but not back to 2hi...very frustrating, took 2 days to find the problem.Originally Posted by Dezertracer2004

Simple fix, yank that electrical BS out and put a manual lever on the floor.

I never said it'd be quick but you'll never have to worry about all the electrical stuff going bad again. If you don't want to pull it all out then don't. It's just my personal preference because I'd rather pull/push a lever and KNOW its in 4x4 or 2wd then push a button and hope that it is.Originally Posted by Texsbluethunder

True enough, but even with the lever on the floor, your still relying on the vacuum/electric front disconnect...Originally Posted by bigwhite93
