Could someone help me troubleshoot this? I am fairly good with electrical work so a wiring diagram on fuse 13 in my 1997 Suburban would be a good start. This is the fuse that controls the power door locks/cig lighter/ and 2nd row speakers. I know its going to be a little harder to troubleshoot with all those devices on the one circuit but I am going to try.

Any common spots on these trucks where wires get pinched or frayed?

Make sure it's not something silly like a coin in the cig lighter, or the element is twisted inside the lighter.
The second row speakers are powered by a amp under the driver seat. Did you change your speakers, and/or possibly cook your amp? you could also have a shorted out door lock actuator.

Where is the door lock actuator? The door locks still work with the wireless remote and button in back next to barnyard doors.

Where can I get a wiring diagram?

There's an actuator in each door. If they are all locking and unlocking freely. you can eliminate that as a problem.

Not usually, could be under the dash, between the column, and the ash tray area, as I recall.

Hey do you know how to get the cig lighters out so I can disconnect them?

What I really would like to work is the power door locks, i dont care about speakers and cig lighter.

sweet, I've looked around at them but didn't really know if it was worth it. thanks

Wreez71- sorry bro I'm not sure, your setup is quite a bit different than my truck so I'm not sure about the door lock control module, and I've never had to take the cig lighter receptacle out so I can't help you there either. hopefully someone who's got a burban will chime in.

Re: Fuse 13 keeps blowing in my 97 Suburban

OK guys I finally got around to looking at this. First, how in the hell do you get behind the cig lighters to unplug them? I am pulling on them but I want to be as easy as I can on my dash as not to break anything.

Secondly the amp for 2nd row speakers is not under the drivers or passengers seat. Where else could it be, remember I have a 97 Suburban.

Anyway I put a new fuse in, it will work for a couple of days. I want to find the correct way to unplug the cig lighter because I bet that it what it is.

    Let me know.

Re: Fuse 13 keeps blowing in my 97 Suburban

Remove the knee bolster panel under the steering column. On the sides of the ash tray/lighter assembly, there are 4 rectangular expanding plugs. Remove them (pull them straight out) The cig lighters will unscrew from the rear.
Check above the gas pedal for the rear amp assembly.
